I love nothing more than starting the week off with beautiful wedding photos! Mel and Mike were married in beautiful Palm Beach on Sydney's northern beaches. Mel had always dreamed of being married in the pictureque setting on a sunny day surrounded by family and friends. However as she told me, Mother Nature had another plan for her wedding. Nevertheless she still has some amazing photos to share...
Mel held a Tahitian Lei style bouquet of Frangipani, which was cleverly tied loosely to her wrist using some left over fabric from her gown.
The beautiful wedding car is a 1948 Daimler, which belonged to the Queen! Mel's close family friend had it bought over to Australia some years back and has promised her ever since that, when her wedding day arrives it will be hers to use for the day.
"I was going to be married in a beautiful dress that was strapless, ruched at the top, and flowing down from the waist. So it would remind me of a one piece swimsuit with a sarong tired around my waist. My spot was always about half way down the beach so you would have the Barrenjoey lighthouse on one side and Pittwater on the other side. I always imagined boats sailing past. I would get out of my Daimler car at the car park with my one maid of honour, two bridesmaids, three junior bridesmaids, one flower girl, page boy, my dad and I. We would all slowly walk down the beach barefoot with the sand in our toes and having so much fun, our frangipanis in our hands and in our hair. Watching the world go by on the water and saying to everyone what a lucky princess I am - wow this is perfect. As we got closer we would walk through the white Balinese flags and we would all stop, ready for them to play my string music piece. I would see my love of my life and know what is now real - not a dream any more. Then our beach ceremony would start and we would say our vows, have a sand ceremony and then be pronounced husband and wife as the sun set over the water. But unfortunately mother nature had other ideas on my dream beach wedding day - it rained all day and didn't stop raining. So about an hour before my beach ceremony, I had to ring up my reception place [Palm Beach Golf Club] and tell them that I am going for plan B - getting married on the balcony. So all my guests had move to my plan B and were all waiting patiently for the bride and her party to arrive in her two Daimler cars but of course as how my day was going there was still one more thing to go wrong - there was an announcement at the wedding that the bride will be one hour late due to her car breaking down and she will have to wait for the other car to come back to collect her, the flower girl and her dad. So finally after everything going wrong the princess arrived in her Royal car and glided up the stair's and down her frangipani paths and had a wonderful wedding day and night."
