From locking eyes to locking their lives together, Olivia and Dom's luxurious wedding was filled with glitz and glamour.
The Rest is History...
Olivia and Dom's love story first began back in 2016 when their eyes locked and the butterflies began. Olivia went to her hairdressers like she had many times before, but little did she know, her life was about to change forever. Dom was a barber at the salon and after being introduced to each other, the friendship grew and it soon blossomed into love.
Highlight of 2019...
When it came to popping the question, Dom had arranged an intimate and romantic dinner overlooking Woolloomooloo harbour at the gorgeous Otto Ristorante as an early birthday celebration. This restaurant holds a special place in their hearts as every year, they would celebrate Valentine's Day here together. "It later came to my knowledge that Dom just couldn't wait until my birthday dinner which was supposed to be the following weekend," says Olivia.
All Things Luxe...
The couple knew that they wanted their big day to have a classic and romantic look, filled with layers of luxury. Olivia's inspiration for the theme of the wedding was based on her luxurious and modern dress. Their custom wedding invitations, bonbonniere, and unity candle set were styled white with a magical gold foil finish to complement their wedding design. Each guest received a gorgeous candle as their bonbonniere, designed to be a beautiful reminder of Dom and Olivia's wedding day and love for each other.
The Nuptials...
The original plan for their wedding was to celebrate with 300 guests of friends and family. With Dom being Lebanese and Olivia being Macedonian, a larger wedding was one of the traditions they were greatly looking forward to. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and restrictions, the number of guests had to be reduced. They were still able to officially say 'I do' with a ceremony at St Joseph's Maronite Catholic Church surrounded by 100 of their loved ones. The church was decorated with large bouquets of white roses to match the wedding decor and luxurious theme.
Opulent Celebrations...
The lavish reception was held at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters. The room was filled with fresh white florals and extravagant crystal candleholders on each table which looked spectacular against the dark features of the room. Each table was styled alternatively with a combination of acrylic floral stands and stylish candle holders as the centrepiece, with black linen tablecloths and black chairs as an offset. The main feature of the room was the long head table accommodating the wedding party towards the back of the room. The table and chairs were a clear style which exaggerated the stunning bright white florals and candles displayed along the whole length. The show-stopping 7 tiered cake, decorated white and with gold calligraphy of their initials and date took centre stage on an acrylic table with an orchid feature.
Traditional Entertainment...
The entertainment can only be described as traditional and extraordinary. The couple enjoyed incredible live drummers at both their homes and at the ceremony, then continuing into the reception. Throughout the evening a mixture of traditional Lebanese musicians and Macedonian bands filled the room with their talent, for all the guests to celebrate and dance to. The reception was hosted by Jacob Hacklany, who also performed R&B and classic hits for guests to let their hair down! Later in the evening, Jacob performed "All of Me" by John Legend for Olivia and Dom's first dance which was a truly magical affair. The newlyweds floated in the heart of the room infused with cloud-like smoke and dazzled in the light of the sparklers shooting around them.
Dream Wedding Gown...
Olivia wore an elegantly detailed nude and silver beaded gown designed by Micheline Mokdassi. Micheline's uniqueness, creativity, and attention to detail are what brought the design to life. Olivia's gown exuded luxury and modern-day essence, from the intricate Swarovski beading and detachable overskirt to the dramatic sleeves and sheer backless design secured with traditional back buttons. The dress was the result Micheline designed drawing inspiration from 5 wedding gowns that Olivia had presented when they were sketching her dream wedding gown. Dom was dressed in a traditional black tuxedo with a patterned blazer to complement Olivia's gorgeous gown and was finished off with stylish black cufflinks.
Couple Tips...
When it comes to the wedding build-up, this wonderful couple had lots of advice to share. Their number one piece of advice? "Live in the moment (at least for a couple of months like we did). Don't start planning the wedding straight away, there is plenty of time for that. Lastly, always remember "why" you're getting married".
