I'm a sucker for beautiful things, and even more for beautiful things that taste delicious! So it's not really a surprise to say that macaroons are one of my absolute favourite things in the world. Pretty pastel colours that change with the seasons, crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy and sugary and sweet on the inside. Oh my! So when these delectable and good-enough-to-make you-lick-your-screen shots landed in my inbox this afternoon I knew I had to share, lest I be cursed for all eternity for selfishness.
My first ever experience with Baroque Bistro Pattiserie's macaroons was one of... well, swooning, sighing and singing with rapturous adoration. So it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to their newly released seasonal macaroon range, just in time for Winter, to be launched on June 1st. Rich, hearty and decadent, the new winter flavours are... Chai, Pear and Chestnut and Black Truffle.
The Chai flavour ($2.50 each) is rich, exotic and delicately spiced, made with the finest Valrhona 'Tenariva' milk chocolate ganache. Tenariva's earthy, aromatic flavour is perfectly suited to the spices of the chai, resulting in an overall warming, winter earthiness. Deeelicious.
The luxurious Pear and Chestnut flavour ($2.50 each) is made up of luscious Poire William liqueur and pear, mixed with crushed chestnut butter cream. The natural sweetness of the chestnuts gives a delightful hint of nuttiness without the need for added sugar - a subtle, complex and delightful combination.
Representing the piece de resistance the Black Truffle flavour ($6.00 each) is rich and decadent. With the exquisite intensity of Black Perigord truffles, a Callebaut white chocolate ganache filling provides the perfect accompaniment. Unlike other white chocolate, Callebaut is less sweet but stands up to the powerful truffle flavour - depth and drama for the ultimate macaron experience!
Baroque has a great reputation for perfectly executed macaroons... From the smooth, shiny ganache filling sandwiched between two crunchy, yet chewy biscuits, they are an irresistible sweet treat enjoyed by all. Make sure you take the opportunity to experience the new limited edition flavours!
