A proposal in Paris led to a French-inspired wedding celebration for Emily and Dan. They created a stylish soiree, using soft hues of pink to emphasise the romance of their day. "We met in high school but it wasn't until years later, when we were both holidaying in Byron Bay, that we fell in love," says Emily.
A trip to France for the 2007 Rugby World Cup ended in the best way possible for the happy couple. They returned to Sydney heady with love and ready to plan their wedding. Their love for all things French became the perfect wedding theme. Emily chose to wear an exquisite dusty pink Collette Dinnigan gown - a simple, elegant design that looked stunning with a silver beaded bolero. Her five bridesmaids complemented her perfectly in their cream chiffon cocktail length dresses. The maids carried bouquets of dusty pink David Austin roses, adding to the girly and feminine colour palette chosen by the bride.
The ceremony was held at Saint Ignatius' College in Riverview. Afterward, guests were invited to Dan's parents' house in Woolwich where a marquee was decorated with all things French: chandeliers, roses and clusters of fresh pink blooms and pink bomboniere. Tiffany chairs and floating E & D letters in the pool added to the beauty of the evening. Caterers served canapés followed by a sit-down meal of entree and main. A roaming dessert pleased those with a sweet tooth and a supper of mini fish and chips and mini hamburgers kept the energy levels high for a night of dancing.
Emily and Dan still talk of the amazing time they had. They honeymooned in Fiji and are currently living in Balmain.
