Amelia and Beau married in a simple, relaxed affair that was 'fun and all about the family'. The day was largely handcrafted, 'we did anything and everything we could do ourselves. Not only did that make the wedding more affordable, but it made everything so much more special,' says the couple. Even Amelia's gorgeous ivory wedding dress was handmade by her grandmother and they organised all the decorations - 'anything we wanted and couldn't find, we made!'
The couple who have been together since they were 15 chose to marry in a traditional church ceremony at Drummoyne Baptist Church. 'Our ceremony was held in a church that has been tied to Amelia's family for decades. Her parents and grandparents were both married in that same chapel, so it was really special for us to get married there also,' says Beau. They used Bella Vista Farm as a photo location, 'it's a place that feels so true to who we are as a couple,' says Amelia. 'Our Photographers were Michael and Amanda from MM Photos and we were stoked with their efficiency, positive attitude and how much they obviously loved their work. They are just lovely people and we enjoyed sharing our day with them.'
The couple has this advice for others planning a wedding, 'Remember you are planning a marriage not just a wedding...so don't let the details of one day impact on your relationship negatively. Be resourceful, involve your family, and enjoy the planning during the lead up to your special day. Make sure you relax and make happy memories of that time too!'
