Kirsty and Matthew knew it was love during their first holiday together at Cocoon Beach Club in Bali, so it made sense that they return there to celebrate their wedding. "Bali is our favourite place," says Kirsty. "The whole atmosphere is fantastic. And we love Cocoon Beach Club. The feeling there is so relaxing: the pool, the food, the music, the staff... everything is perfect."
The couple chose a casual bohemian theme, keeping the colours chic and simple, in white and cream. The staff at Cocoon sourced a number of unique decorations including dream catchers, paper lanterns and strands of shells, combining them with fresh flowers to create a free-spirited wonderland on the beach.
The bride chose a simple white gown, handmade in Bali. "I wanted something uncomplicated," says Kirsty, "as I was wearing a beautiful flower crown and carrying a brooch bouquet." Her bridesmaids wore white, with mix and match silver jewellery and the groomsmen kept it clean and simple with white cotton shirts and mustard shorts. "The five bridesmaids wore toe sandals to match the dresses and each chose a different hairstyle." They also included their three beautiful children in the bridal party, along with Kirsty's niece.
The couple indulged their guests with plenty of fresh-fruit-inspired cocktails and a sumptuous cocktail menu featuring luscious seafood, mini tacos, burgers and pizzas. Their wedding cake was surrounded with 70 individual cupcakes, which were later boxed and topped with silver ribbon to become bomboniere.
"We would really recommend a wedding in Bali ,we had such a beautiful time. You can spend as much as you want or as little as you want for your special day. I highly recommend a wedding planner unless you have the time to do it all yourself."
