How you met
We met over 10 years ago through friends. We were trying to set each other up with our close friends, and while doing so, we realised we liked each other!
The proposal
Nine years after our first date, we went to Hayman Island for a 5 day holiday. On the 2nd night we had a great Italian meal followed by stroll on the beach where he proposed.
Planning the wedding
We locked in the photographer and wedding reception early on. After that we just ticked things off one by one. Everything worked out extremely well, much better than I hoped. We planned to get married on our 10 year anniversary.
The wedding dress
Simple, elegant design, with ivory silk. Dress was designed by Elizabeth de Varga and found at Brides of Sydney.
The bridesmaid’s attire
Bridesmaids dresses were black summer dresses from Charlie Brown.
The groom’s attire
Custom made suit from Rochefort. The suit was black with fine detailed stripe, grey waist coat with black pockets, white shirt and back tie.
The wedding theme
We chose a classy theme of black and white with a touch of pink. We wanted a colour theme that was simple yet classy.
The wedding cake
Three tier chocolate cake covered in 600 Lindt chocolate balls made by a family friend Bev Brommage Burchell.
The wedding flowers
Bouquets were compact and lush using hot pink & light pink roses, white freesias, lush foliage and dusty miller around the edge. The flowers at the reception were pink and light pink roses as well as pink tiger lilies. Flowers done by family Felicity McDermott and La Vie en Rose.
Transport
Jaguar Mark V Black/Charcoal from Broadway Limousines, 5 series Black BMW from City Limousines and a family friend’s black Maserati Quattroporte
Honeymoon
We spent 3 weeks in Santorin, Almalfi Cost and Rome. The highlight was Ravello on the Amalfi Coast.
Also
One of the great place we went for photos was Sable and Argent, which is a Bike shop in Woolloomooloo. The photos were taken by Something Blue Photography which was one of my biggest requests for the day as I feel their photographic style is unique. We also had a photobooth from Flashback photobooths which was a fantastic hit on the night!
