Michael and Angela fell in love whilst at University and their time spent apart thereafter only affirmed their love for one another. The couple wed in beachside bliss, on Australia's south coast.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
"After Michael graduated he had to move away for work. Saying goodbye after seeing each other on weekends was always so hard. Looking back now we realise that this time apart and then coming back together reaffirmed that we loved each other", Angela recalls.
Coastal Cocktail...
The couple wanted their guests to have fun and enjoy the couples beautiful hometown surrounds and opted for a coastal cocktail themed day.
DIY Touches...
Intent on having a day that was stylish as much as it was personal, the couple went to a great deal of effort adding some personal touches of DIY to their wedding styling and gifts.
"We wanted to do as much as we could to make the day more personalised. We put together succulent wedding favours for guests; table numbers (painted river stones) and flower arrangements (at the reception); and my Dad made our beautiful ring-box, wishing well and a recycled timber easel for signage."
"Over the year of being engaged, we grew succulents to use as our wedding favours. We planted them in small frosted glass jars and the tag on these had both the guest name and a thank you message, so doubled as place holders."
The bride was breathtaking her Wendy Makin, Fashions By Farina gown, "when I put it on, I was immediately smiling!", paired pink and cream native Australian blooms. One of the couple's highlights for the day was being able to see all their friends and family enjoying themselves. "We were so happy to be able to celebrate our love with all of our favourite people in such a beautiful location."
