A L A N N A & T I M
This is one from the Modern Wedding vault for all our new modettes who may have missed this amaaaazing real wedding that featured in the winter edition of Modern Wedding earlier this year. I wanted to share it again because there are just so many perfect details - we could have filled a whole magazine with them! Alanna and Tim's love of life, poetry and romance inspired an eclectic wedding celebration, imbued with a dreamy aesthetic and an overall whimsical sense of fun.
Alanna and Tim met through a mutual friend. "You could call it fate, or destiny, but some things are just meant to be," smiles Alanna. "He was the Yin to my Yang. Our hearts just seemed to match." The couple spent eight wonderful years together. In that time they were blessed with the arrival of a beautiful little girl, Scarlett Lily, and made many plans for their future together. "There was no moment, no bang on the head when we realised it was love," says Alanna. "It just happened gradually. Our life together, our love grew into something magical." So when Tim made the decision to propose, it seemed natural to include their precious daughter in the occasion. "Tim and Scarlett proposed to me together with a custom-made ring on Scarlett Lily's second birthday."
It was at this point that the couple brought in Stylist Emily Vawser of White Room Events. During one of their first discussions, Alanna expressed all her ideas for the big day: every exquisite detail. "We are picturing gorgeous white chairs set up for the ceremony, trees tied with long ribbons that sway in the breeze, pretty crystal chandeliers, vintage sheet music, romantic quotes, beautiful old poetry books... as well as some fun, whimsical elements like balloons and pinwheels. We want our wedding to be unique, gorgeous and filled with fun details to make our guests smile."
Emily, ever the optimist and determined to deliver exactly what the couple wanted, took the inspiration and ran with it. "When Alanna asked me to help narrow things down, I asked her 'Why?'" laughs Emily. "Let's do it all!" she said ambitiously. "It all went together so well, it seemed a shame to leave anything out. I knew we could do it."
