Wedding Hair – Step by Step Styles

Modern Wedding Posted: April 25, 2013

Wedding Hair

Thanks to Sydney based hair stylist and makeup artist, Alex P F Jackson, you can achieve these bridal hair styles at home! Jackson has been in the industry for over two decades and is in tune with the latest bridal hair trends. He's provided us with these basic steps so you can be on your way to a fab hair day!

Both of these styles will need hair product for volume and hold. After washing your hair, you will need to blow dry with lots of root lift making the hair smoother as you work through it. You can also blow dry in some soft waves and movement. This is key so that the hair can be moulded into shape easier.

Left: This style will need a more structured setting so the movement in the back and sides is more definite.

Use a curling wand or hot rollers throughout the hair
Create your side parting and split into sections
Section across head from ear to ear leaving out the back section
Start from the front and in a twisting motion work your way around to the back
Loosely place and pin as you go
Pulling out random pieces pin loosely
Leave volume in the crown area and try not to pin in to neatly so it looks soft throughout

Right: This style will need a more structured setting so the movement in the back is more definite.

Use a curling wand in the nape area then after this, split the hair into sections from ear to ear around the back
Braid around the left side of the head to just past the ear
Pony tail the back section leaving out the top and crown sections
Loosely braid pony tail and pull out some pieces and pin in a loose manner
Combine the ends of the side braid then pull out, loosen the ends then pin into place
Add hair decoration then spray to finish
