The waterfall braid is a striking, yet subtly feminine take on a half-up half-down style. It's simply perfect for a bride, or for any bride-to-be duties in the lead-up to the big day (think engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and so on). The waterfall braid gives a little bit of elegance to a casual 'do. So, today we're sharing the easy peasy how-to steps on getting this gorgeous look for yourself.
STEP 1: Using a large barrelled curling tong, curl the mid lengths and ends. Clip each curled section up and allow the hair to cool down before removing the clips.
STEP 2: Brush the hair thoroughly.
STEP 3: Section a vertical panel from the top of the head to the front of ear and divide the section into two.
STEP 4: Direct the bottom towards the top and the top down to the bottom.
STEP 5: Wrap the section over again to create a twist.
STEP 6: Remove a 1cm wide vertical section from behind the front twist.
STEP 7: Drop the back vertical section between the twisted front sections.
STEP 8: Lock in the back section between the two front twists. Twist the bottom over the top.
STEP 9: Continue to add 1cm sections around the head into the middle of the original two sections.
STEP 10: Twist the bottom over the top to lock and hold in place.
STEP 11: Continue to add vertical sections from around the crown, using the two front sections to lock and hold the hair.
STEP 12: Use a bobby pin to secure the end of the twist.
STEP 13: Gently lift and loosen the hair around the top for a softer result.
STEP 14: Separate the vertical panels and use a regular strength hairspray to hold.
STEP 15: Pop on your favourite dress, a great pair of earrings and enjoy being the centre of attention!
Have a beautiful day Modettes!
