There are a million things to think about on your big day, and that can cause some stress! After all, you don't want to get caught out when you're trying to enjoy the best day of your life! This guide will help you put together a pack of wedding day essentials that every bride should have!
Print It Out...
Something that is often overlooked during the wedding planning process is making sure that you've got a few physical copies of all your suppliers' phone numbers floating around on the big day. We often rely on our phones for those kinds of things but what if your phone dies and you need to get in contact with one of your suppliers ASAP? You'll definitely be thanking yourself if you can just reach into your bag and pull out a physical list of supplier contact details!
Snack Time...
Food, glorious food! On your wedding day, it might not always be easy to track down a snack. So, make sure you keep some nibbles on hand for when you're feeling low on energy. Snacks like fruit, nuts or healthy bars are a great option to keep you on your feet all day. Plus, remember to keep hydrated as well by drinking plenty of water!
Hair Cair...
Imagine looking at your wedding photos and every single little thing is beyond perfect...apart from that stray flyaway hair that was covering your face all day! Make sure you've got an endless supply of bobby pins, hair ties, and hairspray nearby on your big day. It's also a good idea to keep a brush or a comb handy for any hair emergencies that could arise throughout the day.
Wash And Repeat...
It's always a good idea to have face and hand wipes around on your wedding day, especially the antibacterial kind. For any makeup mishaps or silly spills, you'll be glad to have them! Also, now more than ever it's crucial to be able to keep your hands as clean as you can so it also wouldn't hurt to have a couple of bottles of hand sanitizer lying around.
Fresh As A Daisy...
You're going to look like an absolute angel on your wedding day so you want to make sure that your smell matches your look! Keep deodorant and perfume on hand throughout the day for whenever you feel like you need a quick sweet-smelling spritz. Our top tip is to put a perfume rollerball in your wedding day clutch so that you're never caught out without something that can quickly freshen you up.
Hidden Lifesaver...
Another understated lifesaver on your wedding day is clear nail polish! Now, this little hint isn't just about fixing your manicure. If you or your bridesmaids notice a hole in your tights, spreading a layer of clear nail polish around the damage will prevent the tear from getting bigger.
The Doctor Is In...
It's no secret that weddings can be super stressful so if you're prone to stress headaches, make sure you've got access to painkillers on your wedding day! You want to be completely present throughout the day and nothing will drain your focus and energy like a raging headache. Plus, while you're putting together your wedding morning essentials, throw in some hayfever tablets just in case. You don't want to look back on your wedding pictures only to see puffy eyes and sniffly noses!
Patch It Up...
Another important wedding morning essential are bandaids! We are firm believers that your wedding shoes need to be worn and broken in before the big day but you never know when a blister may strike. So, have bandaids available so that you can combat any pesky blisters and cuts that could arise throughout the day.
Because Heels Aren't Always Fun...
So let's say you DO get a blister, or your feet just get sore and tired from a long day of standing and dancing. Even if you are planning to wear your heels all day, it's a good idea to have a pair of flat shoes floating around in case you need a break. After all, you want to be boogieing the night away, not having to sit down because you're in pain!
For Fashion Emergencies...
We absolutely believe that it's always best to be prepared for anything. This is especially true when it comes to wedding outfits! What if there's a spill? Or a zipper breaks? Having a small sewing kit, stain remover and safety pins on standby are a big yes. Better to be safe than sorry! It's also worth having a lint roller, body tape, and stick-on bra ready to go.
Steaming Queen...
Chances are your wedding dress will be beautifully pressed for the big day, but you want to make sure your gorgeous gown has no crinkles or wrinkles. Have someone bring along a steamer in case your dress, or anyone else's, needs a quick freshen up.
Minty Fresh...
This is definitely one we wouldn't have thought of - have a toothbrush, floss and mouth wash with you! After you've had some wedding morning snacks and a bit of champagne, you'll want to make sure your breath is minty fresh for that first newlywed kiss! Bring some mints along with you too, just in case.
