I was chatting to a friend recently who had been to a wedding where they served beautiful cocktails throughout the night. It's funny how this small detail was the thing that she remembered and thought to tell me about - forget the dress or the venue, it was all about the divine cocktails!
A signature cocktail in honour of the newly married couple is one of those small touches that will really have your guests talking. It's also a nice sentiment for the couple who can reminisce over their special cocktail on anniversaries to come.
Alternatively you may like to have a 'girly' cocktail in honour of the bride and something 'manly' in honour of the groom - which is just too cute for words! Ask your reception venue or caterer if they can help you arrange a signature cocktail. They will be able to advise you on which flavours compliment the food being served.
You may like to tie your cocktails in with the colour theme for a stunning 'attention to detail' look.
If you're worried that cocktails will stretch the budget why not double up the cocktails as place settings?
Design a cocktail that is uniquely you and incorporate all your favourite ingredients, after all it's your day to create! Here are a few recipes to get those creative cocktail juices flowing! Don't worry too much if you're not a cocktail mixing expert - chances are your guests aren't either, but we all know how to drink them!
