Vivian and Howard wanted a destination wedding to allow them the opportunity to spend their special day with family and friends from all over the world. As the couple shares a love for the beach - Howard even popped the question under rainbows in Hawaii -Bali was their dream location.
Having visited Bali on an earlier trip, Vivian and Howard fell in love with the unique culture, beautiful landscape, great weather, and the stretches of beach. By having a destination wedding, guests could turn the celebration into their own vacations too.
To embrace the different cultures, the first event was a Balinese-themed welcome dinner on the beach, complete with fire dancers and local-style food stalls. On the morning of the big day, the couple had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony in honour of their own heritage.
The ceremony itself was held on the sandy beach and was styled with a light tan, ivory and coral colour scheme. Vivian walked down the sandy aisle in a stunning tulle and organza Monique Lhuillier gown. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful flowing coral dresses.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their 100 guests were refreshed with cocktails by the pool followed by a formal sit-down dinner. The party got going during the reception with the couple's surprise choreographed evolution of dance routine followed by fireworks!
Vivian was particularly touched by the surprise Howard planned after the ceremony. "He knows I love trees so he surprised me with a tree planting ceremony! We planted a tree with a plaque of our names and wedding date so that we could always come back during our anniversaries to remember our special day."
