Do you have a bit of a thing for pale men with sharp teeth? Yes? Are you perhaps a little fond of golden haired golden-eyed Adonises with a tendency to sparkle under direct sunlight? I thought so. Do you know the complex love story of Edward and Bella? If you're a fan of the Twilight saga (and let's face it - who isn't?) this will make your heart pound!!
US based Bridal Designer Alfred Angelo announced yesterday that he would be making the official and exclusive Twilight replica gown from the movie Breaking Dawn - which is currently breaking box office records all over the world. The gown in which Bella and Edward wed has been kept under wraps for months as the last pieces of the movie were filmed. Only four principle partners within Alfred Angelo knew anything about the deal, until it was announced that they would be the official and exclusive licensee. When the time came, Alfred Angelo himself was flown in secret to a meeting in Los Angeles to view the gown and he designed the replica from there.
The impact of gown on the bridal market is expected to be even more significant than that of Kate Middleton's and Kim Kardashian's wedding dresses. "Realising that this design would have a profound impact in the way current brides would perceive their dream gown, the Twilight franchise has officially licenced one of America's leading bridal design houses. Alfred Angelo has created a replica design of this signature gown for the 'Bella Swans' of today," said a representative of Alfred Angelo. "Alfred Angelo hopes his replica of the gown will be 'more forgiving' in its cut and aspires to flatter brides of all sizes from 0 to 30."
The original gown was the creation of red carpet favourite Carolina Herrera. The dress was designed to have 'a period feel, without being actually vintage'. It was originally designed to fit the personality of Kristen Stewart's character 'Bella' in the movie.
The highly anticipated gown, being marketed under 'Twilight Bridal' by Alfred Angelo is being released worldwide this week. So Modettes, any Twi-hards among you? Would you wear a replica wedding dress? Do you think the Twilight Wedding Dress is going to have as big an impact on bridal fashion as Kate Middleton's gown or Kim Kardashian's?
