After a romantic proposal in Sicily, Naomi and Anthony created an unforgettable, Italian inspired wedding day, filled with great food, wine and dancing.
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL
"On the first meeting, I thought Anthony seemed a bit too cool and he thought I was a bit of a princess." revealed Naomi. "It didn't turn romantic until a couple of years later. I still think he's too cool and he definitely knows I'm a princess!"
The couple were married in an intimate outdoor ceremony at McKell Park in Darling Point. The arch where they married was designed to match the gowns of the bridal party; understated and graceful. A combination of natural leaves gave a glowing green backdrop and was tied together with flower crowns throughout the bridal party.
Naomi's palette choices for the floral arrangements and bouquets was a combination of greens, creams, soft pinks and royal purple. "I said 'just do what you do!' I guess that would be a fun brief to receive!"
SIMPLE AND STYLISH
Naomi's gown was simple and stylish, designed by Helen English. The soft silk created a classic look, later embellished with the hand crafted lace veil designed by Naomi's sister Beccy. "It was the first dress I tried on and I loved Helen's vibe instantly. I wanted elegant, cool and a style I knew my fussy husband to-be would like"
FROM THE SICILIAN SEA SIDE
With family and friends coming from all over the world, the couple wanted to create a joyous environment and embrace the Italian heritage of Anthony's family.Naomi recalls one of the most memorable parts of the evening was embracing her family's Jewish background with the Hora dance.. "We were lifted up on chairs, and almost fell off!"
"We knew we wanted a party! That was an easy thing to agree on...something modern, fashionable but simple, that reflected our aesthetic" says Naomi. "We had a cocktail reception to prioritise dancing...We were dancing until well past closing!"
The food was a dream-hybrid of Italian and some of The Apollo's Greek classics. Spoonfuls of Tiramisu were later handed out on the dance floor in lieu of a wedding cake and Limoncello bottled by Anthony and his family were gifted as a personal touch for guests and a nod to Anthony's heritage.
