Savannah and Matt wanted a celebration that was elegant, romantic and full of light! Featuring hues of white, blue and beige, they achieved their dream and said 'I do' overlooking the glimmering ocean.
High School Sweethearts...
This romantic duo met back in high school, and have been sweethearts from the start. Their love is truly undeniable with the couple telling us that 'we never fight and know it's true love because we can't stand to be away from each other!'
A Japanese Proposal...
When it came to popping the question, Matt knew exactly where to go. Having lived in Japan for two years and being a fluent speaker of the language, Matt loved a trip back to Tokyo! It was on a rooftop here that Matt asked Savannah to be his forever.
A Love Of Light...
From the moment the planning began, Savannah and Matt knew they wanted an elegant wedding that was filled with light. "We wanted lots of twinkling lights, candles and decorative details with light to transform the family home which overlooked the Pacific Ocean". The wedding was classic and timeless with a colour palette of white, varying shades of blue and natural tones.
A Family Affair...
The couple officially tied the knot in a intimate ceremony in Utah. They then celebrated with family and friends at Savannah's family home in Santa Barbara where a ring ceremony was also held. The couple hosted guests on the lawn, with the rolling mountains creating the ultimate outdoor atmosphere.
The Crew...
The couple were each joined by their siblings on the day. Matt had four groomsmen, each dressed in a dapper classic black suit. The bridesmaids wore beautiful blue, mismatched grooms to complement the colour scheme of the day.
The Sparkling Bride...
The bride wore a custom design from international designer Galia Lahav. The gown boasted a champagne tone, with incredible detail and a generous sprinkling of sparkles! The look was completed with a classic cathedral length veil and a bountiful bouquet of white blooms and soft greenery.
Blue Beauty...
The colour choices of the day were based on the brides love of white tones, with accents of blue added throughout. Florals complemented the timeless theme with garden roses, peonies, ranunculus and eucalyptus all being used.
Mission Impossible...
The groom made sure to surprise guests on the big day with an epic entrance! He didn't walk to the ceremony...he rode in on a motorcycle! It did't stop there though. Adding in a bit of fun, the groom had the 'Mission Impossible' theme play as he arrived. The best part? He learnt how to ride the motorcycle just for the big day!
Canopies and Chandeliers...
The wedding reception was straight out of a dream! Guests were treated to a buffet style meal with interactive food stations, including a pasta bar and Brazilian BBQ. Decor featured mismatched wooden tables, each draped in rich blue velvet. White floral centrepieces were placed on each table, perfectly tying in the style of the brides bouquet. The tablescape detail featured more white tones and touches of gold. The whole area was shadowed by a canopy of lights, spherical chandeliers and crawling vines.
The Final Countdown...
When it comes to planning the big day, Savannah and Matt have some wonderful advice to offer! "Don't make the engagement too long! Make it just long enough to plan the details of the wedding and build excitement for the marriage.' They also suggest using Pinterest to gather as much information as possible!
