S A R A H A N D L I A M
With a love for all things wine and cheese, a rustic French manor was the obvious choice for Sarah and Liam's big day. They celebrated in style with a fabulous fairytale wedding in France.
Love At First Faint...
The happy couple met 5 years ago when Sarah fainted on the dance floor at a bar and Liam rushed to her assistance. "As cheesy as this sounds, it was love at first sight for us. When he helped me after I fainted, I just knew he was special" Sarah tells us.
A Day of Destinations...
Sarah and Liam knew they wanted to get married abroad and chose France to truly allow them to capture their love of cheese and wine. A theme of travelling was trickled throughout the celebrations with the reception being filled with pictures of the happy couple in some of the 30 countries they have visited. They hope to have visited 50 countries together by the time they reach 40.
Chateau Chic...
Located in Bordeaux, in the heart of France's wine region, The Vineyard Villa was this couples dream venue. The reception was held in a barn, full of exposed wood and rustic charm. Wooden name tags and table names further added a feeling of french romance and allowed the colour combinations chosen by the couple to truly stand out. All their wine was supplied from a local vineyard, providing two magnums of red for each table.
Lovely in Lace...
Whilst it took a while for Sarah to track down her dream dress, she eventually chose a stunning Morilee design. "I tried on loads of dresses but nothing felt right. I came across this dress and fell in love! It made me feel beautiful." Sarah's dress featured a mermaid silhouette and french alençon lace detail. A sheer lace back detail and intricately beaded belt beautifully tied together this elegant bridal look.
All Things Lemon...
"Lemon was our main colour for the fact we wanted something different and we love how it turned out!" Wanting something that really stood out, the bouquets combined lemon and cream peonies. Throughout the venue, floral features mixed peonies, hydrangeas and crisp greenery and were displayed in tall vases. Candle and lights scattered around created a dim and soft glow to bring a feeling of romance and magic to the venue.
French Food...
Canapés followed the ceremony with a fresh mixture of fish being served, as well as a foie gras and meat carving station. A decadent feast followed including goats cheese salad, beautiful beef and a chocolate trio pudding. The luscious lemon theme continued with guests being gifted lemon macarons in travel themed boxes. In true French style, guests were also treated to a mesmerising champagne tower. The couple's cake featured trickles of yellow and gold with soft florals to match the theme.
Abroad Again...
Honeymoon plans for the couple include cruising around Alaska and then visiting Canada. True travel lovers, they started their marriage as they intend to continue, discovering the world together.
Don't Rush...
With an engagement lasting just over two years, Sarah and Liam's number one piece of advice is to take your time planning your wedding. "It takes a lot of time and money to plan a wedding so don’t stress and just enjoy the engagement!". Additional advice from the couple includes "At the end of the day the main purpose you are there for is to marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with so don’t fret about the small things."
