{Navarra Venues, Oatlands House}
Sophia and Robert knew from day one that they were meant to be. Following a spontaneous proposal, this gorgeous couple said their I do's in a truly stylish way. Taking place at Navarra Venue's beautiful Oatlands House, their day involved stunning roses, an unforgettable gown and a celebration they would never forget
A Walk To Remember
At just sixteen years old, Sophia confessed to friends that she would one day marry Robert. Seven years later, Robert surprised Sophia with an unsuspecting proposal during an early morning walk. Taking photos on their walk, Sophia was interrupted by Robert's request to ask a question. "I turned around, annoyed because he ruined my shot, and I found him on one knee." What followed was a stream of tears and the chance to plan their dream day together.
A Modern Day Princess
Sophia's gown was a Pallas Couture creation featuring a daring front split and laser cut lace. Searching for something simple and with limited detail, this gown was the perfect fit. Sophia and her mother then took designs into their own hands and added tulle details to the gown as a "modern day veil". Hand beaded stars were then scattered down the straps for a personal touch. Bridesmaids were dressed in a range of uniquely styled dresses, all in a gorgeous ivory. Robert was dressed in a dashing navy blue suit with groomsmen dressed to match.
Edgy Yet Elegant
When looking at an overall theme, Sophia and Robert were aiming for a modern look with an edgy feel added throughout. Wanting to embrace this concept, the couple searched for a non-traditional setting for their wedding photos. "I wanted something that would look interesting on a wall and something that spoke to our personalities" explained Sophia. They chose 'The Junkyard', a vintage and raw area, filled with unkept decor.
Crisp and Classic
Following a beautiful ceremony at their local church, festivities carried onto a stunning and intimate reception at Navarra Venues Oatlands House. A theme of greenery, crisp white flowers and soft, romantic lighting followed throughout the venue. Adorned with mesmerising crystal chandeliers, the ballroom offered a modern and spacious area for a fun and festive occasion.
Flowers Galore
The bridal table featured grey linen, draped greenery and a beautiful combination of white roses and magnolia leaves. The surrounding tables showcased arrangements on high stands, each featuring the repeated collection of white roses and magnolia leaves with an addition of olive branches.
A Gourmet Palette
Whilst waiting to be seated, guests were greeted with freshly shucked oysters. What followed is what can only be described as a decadent, Italian inspired feast. Catered by Oatlands House, food featured fresh seafood, antipasto platters, mushroom risotto and was topped off with passionfruit gelato and sticky date pudding.
Attention Future Brides
The couple's advice for your wedding? "Planning is only as stressful as you make it! Stick to what you both love, don't worry too much about all the options around you. At the end of the day, it's YOUR celebrating of love and marriage. Have a plan and try to do things yourself"
