A Relaxed Countryside Romance In The Blue Mountains

Modern Wedding Posted: October 31, 2017

Over cheese and wine and the setting sun, Adam popped the question to his bride to be. The couple tied the knot in a laid back, countryside wedding complete with dusty pink florals and green gum nuts.

A private beach, cheese and wine…

After 12 months of friendship, Emily and Adam became more than friends. Fast forward a few years and Adam got down on one knee, “Adam proposed while we were on a holiday in Port Douglas, we were staying at a resort with a private beach, so we went down there at sunset with some cheese and wine and he popped the question. It was a stunning setting and very romantic”, Emily said.

A natural Australian setting…

“We both wanted an outdoors wedding set in a beautiful location, with a very relaxed/laid back feel. I’ve always loved the colours of the natural Australian bushland which is why we picked the setting in the Blue Mountains, the native flowers and the colour scheme”, says Emily.

The couple made their dream a reality sealing the deal at Dryridge Estate, Megalong Valley, with a mix of native dust pink and purple Australian botanics, wine barrels and festoon lighting for an elegant, country affair.

Keeping with the dusty, pastel theme of the day the bridal party wore dust pink Shona Joy dresses and tailor made dust blue suits.

Effortless and feminine…

One of the prerequisites for Emily’s gown was complete comfort, but to also feel beautiful and feminine. She opted for a classic BHDLN gown, complete with lace detailing which suited her laid back style completely.

A sweet treat…

Each guest left Emily and Adam’s day with some sweet treats, sourced locally in the Blue Mountains.

Furry friends…

The couple will never forget their dog running down the aisle as the ring bearer on their special day and hope to add many more furry friends to their family in the coming years. “In 40 years we hope to be living together in a large house on the coast somewhere with heaps of dogs”.
