L A U R A A N D N I C K
Laura and Nick's stunning Spring celebration took place in the beautiful town of Mudgee. The outdoor backdrop tied in perfectly with the couple's theme of white, green and pastel tones and was captured wonderfully by the amazing talent that is Sheri McMahon Photography.
FIRST MEETING...
The couple met through mutual friends at a bar in Wollongong while studying at university. The pair knew their relationship was something special early on and have found themselves to be inseparable ever since. As their relationship grew, and they spent more and more time together, the duo realised that their moments together were constantly filled with love. "There wasn't a specific moment we knew it was love, it just grew more and more," the bride tells us.
THE PROPOSAL...
Their perfect proposal took place when Laura and Nick were enjoying a weekend away in Wollongong in November 2018. Just like a flawless movie scene, the pair were at a lighthouse and overlooking the water below, when Laura turned around to find Nick down on one knee! SO CUTE!
BOYS WILL BE BOYS...
Laura and Nick had both family & their closest friends standing beside them as they tied the knot. Nicks groomsmen included his best friend as his best man, his brother in law and two of his closest friends. The boys were asked to be part of the bridal party with the word 'groomsmen' printed on stubby holders! Looking handsome as ever, the boys rocked charcoal suits with silver ties!
PRETTY IN PASTEL...
Laura proposed to her bridesmaids in the best way possible - with a bottle of prosecco on Christmas Day! Her gorgeous bride tribe began the wedding morning in their matching set of pretty pink robes. When it was almost time to go, the girls changed into their stunning powder blue Shona Joy cocktail dresses, which were complemented with beautiful bouquets of crisp greenery and baby's breath. Talk about squad goals!
LOVELY LAURA...
The bride wore a light, beautifully laced strapless bustier gown by Rue de Seine. The intricate overlay and fitted bodice provided a flawless and totally timeless silhouette, followed by a train of textured lace. Laura knew it was the one when she couldn't get it out of her head for an entire weekend. The simple yet stunning veil added a whimsical, feminine style that perfectly completed the bridal look with soft curls and glistening earrings.
THE CEREMONY...
The ceremony took place at the majestic St Mary's Catholic Church in Mudgee. With its romantic archways and beautiful colour palette, it's seriously breathtaking! Sheri McMahon Photography captured the big and little moments so perfectly. Her style, described as timeless, passionate, elegant and intimate, was a perfect fit for showcasing the love overflowing from this couple. "We chose Sheri after seeing her work through Instagram and her website. We were able to meet her in person and liked how professional and easy going she was," shares Laura.
STYLED TO PASTEL PERFECTION...
The couple chose the Blue Wren in Mudgee to continue the celebrations of love on their big day. The venue provided the perfect open-plan space to socialise and dance, filled with soft white furnishing and broken up with twinkling cascading lights, floral centerpieces, as well as the unmissable bridal table running the width of the room. The spectacular floral arrangements, which consisted of white roses and lisianthus' threaded between baby’s breath, pink waxflower and lush greenery were delicately crafted by Flowers by Beth in Mudgee.
IT'S TIME TO PARTY...
A highlight for the newlyweds had to be the bridal party entrance. With a live band, Diamond Beat, the tone was set for a grand evening of pure fun, and got everyone up on their feet celebrating and enjoying the night. They were having so much fun on the dancefloor, Laura actually forgot to throw her bouquet! Guests were gifted with personalised engraved shot glasses as their favours and were used to make a hearty toast to the couple, filled with either Lemoncello or Jenever (Dutch gin)!
SENTIMENTAL AND SWEET...
The gorgeous 2-tier naked cake was made by the groom's very talented Aunty, and was very on-trend with much-loved rustic wedding trends. Adorned with pink and white roses, white baby's breath and glimmering speckles of silver, it completely embodied the couple's fairytale vision of a pretty and pastel celebration, made even more special by including family members in the process.
FOREVER AND ALWAYS...
After becoming husband and wife, the newlyweds indulged on a honeymoon to beautiful Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Making the most of their time to rest and relax as freshly married, the duo also reflected on their wedding journey and had this advice for future couples heading into their own weddings. "The day goes by so quickly, and there is so much going, so just remember to try and slow down and be present in the most important moments." And what perfect advice it is.
