Magical and chic, Jules and Cam's wedding radiated romance. The industrial space was brought to life with warm light and soft pastel tones that created an elegant ceremony to remember. We chatted with the Married At First Sight couple to find out everything about their second big day!
First Marriage, Then Love...
Unlike most couples, Jules and Cam first met at the altar! Having both signed up to be part of the experiment on Channel Nine's Married At First Sight, each hoped they would finally meet the love of their life. And that's exactly what the experts envisioned when matching Jules and Cam. After their whirlwind first TV wedding, exhausted after a long week of preparation, the couple still found themselves awake talking until 2 am. There was an instant connection between them, even the show's producers were convinced the pair had met before! Both of them agree that three weeks after they met they knew it was true love, having spent every day together since that moment.
Secret Engagement...
Cam and Jules were officially engaged on December 9th 2018. Having had no contact for 6 days before the proposal, the couple were so happy to see each other that the whole proposal felt like a magical blur. Cam popped the question in the breathtaking Blue Mountains surrounded by a sea of flowers and fog. While the proposal took place in December, it wasn't aired on TV until April. Having only shared the happy news with their closest family and friends, the stunning engagement ring had to stay in a drawer until it was announced to the rest of the world!
It's A Love Story...
Pink, nude, and rose gold made up the colour palette for the couple's special day. Sticking with these soft pastel tones, Jules and Cam wanted to create a whimsical fairytale with a modern twist. The couple treasure the memories from their traditional white on-screen wedding, choosing to incorporate small elements of that day into their second wedding through the cream aisle runner and scattered rose petals. Combining these concepts saw the pair's vision of a romantic, chic fairytale really come to life! Flowers were sourced from all over the world by Wafex Australia, Tesselaar Flowers and Harry's Wholesale. Jules and Cam's incredible florist The Fabled Florette worked closely with Chandeliers To Die For to create the stunning floral and chandelier installations for both the ceremony and reception. Quality Control Entertainment also provided the most beautiful lighting and crystal clear sound for their big day.
An Extra Special Gift...
Jules wanted her bridesmaids to feel pampered while getting ready and gifted the girl's gorgeous boxes from Roman & French. Inside were personalised slippers and coat hangers, getting ready robes, luxurious Olay products, and champagne glasses. As an extra special surprise, Jules selected jewellery that she felt suited each individual bridesmaid's personality and style perfectly.
Let's Say "I Do"...
The venue for the ceremony was kept a secret, with all of the guests being picked up from the QT Sydney and taken on a red double-decker London bus to Beta Bar in Sydney. Having previously been a church, elements of the building's vast history were still visible in the beautiful arches and brickwork that formed the backdrop for the ceremony.
Ultimate Wedding Squad...
The couple's wedding party was comprised of friends and family, old and new. Jules' bridesmaids looked angelic in their simple white strapless dresses from Esther & Co. All the bridesmaids' shoes came from Frankie4 Footwear so they were able to comfortably dance the night away! The gorgeous dresses for the flower girls came from Coco Blush, and as for shoes, this detail slipped their mind so the girls walk down the aisle barefoot! Jules also gave the flower girls stunning pearl necklaces by Pixie Pearls. As for the men by Cam's side, the groomsmen looked handsome wearing Politix from head to toe.
Dressed To Impress...
Jules' 2nd party dress also paid homage to her TV wedding dress by incorporating gorgeous feather details. Cam was looking sharp throughout their big day, wearing custom Alex Goodman.
It Takes Two...
Together, Cam and Jules opted to have two photographers capturing their special day. The couple had worked with Ivy from Love Day Wedding before and knew she was fantastic at what she does. The end result is truly magical!
Time To Be Together...
After the ceremony, all their guests moved downstairs to Alpha Restaurant to enjoy a custom shared menu created by their Executive Chef Peter Conistis. Guests got to sample a selection of incredible wines by De Bortoli Wines throughout the evening. While dinner was served and speeches were made, upstairs where the ceremony had been held just hours before was being transformed into a party room, complete with the Bermuda Social band, mirror balls by QC Entertainment and light-up dance floor by Event Dance Floors. Guests got to capture all the fun of the night in the photobooth by Capture The Night.
Delicate Decadence...
The downstairs reception venue truly was the couples' version of "wedding heaven". All Art Displays provided the stunning draping that transformed the venue, with Event Hire Services proving luxury linen as the perfect finishing touch. Jules and Cam couldn't rave enough about Sketch and Etch transforming their reception. After falling in love with the rose gold wishing well, this provided the inspiration for the whole venue. Incorporating the couple's signature blush pink and nude tones with the chic addition of rose gold created a seamless transition between the ceremony and the reception.
Sweet Treats...
Dessert was not part of the couple's sit-down dinner but their smash cake and dessert bar was a huge crowd pleaser! Surprising Cam with personalised cricket bats from Personalised Favours, his love for the sport shined as they both took aim at the masterpiece from Smashed Piñata Cakes. The couples "Mr and Mrs M" lights by Lime Light Letters were beautifully framed by the balloon installation from Balloon Essentials, creating a gorgeous backdrop for their pink velvet cake table by The Treasure Room. Across at the dessert bar, guests were spoilt for choice between delicious rose gold and pink cupcakes by Moreish Cakes, as well as personalised cookies from The Cookie Stories Co. with the couples names and wedding date.
Beat Of My Heart...
The soundtrack to Cam and Jules' big day consisted of signing their marriage certificate to the sound of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love", walking into their reception dancing along to "Hold My Hand" by Jess Glynne, and having their first dance to an acoustic version of Kylie Minogue's "Love At First Sight".
Shine Bright Like A Diamond...
Wanting to incorporate some traditional elements into their wedding day, Jules' "something blue" came in the form of a stunning diamond and aquamarine necklace from Cerrone. This captivating piece of jewelry lit up against the soft pink of the bride's ceremony dress! Tossing the bouquet was also a fun tradition for later in the evening, with one of the bridesmaid's sisters being lucky enough to catch the arrangement.
Sharing With The World...
Cam and Jules started their relationship in front of the cameras for the world to see. Throughout the wedding planning process, the couple loved sharing their journey with everyone who has sent them messages of love and support throughout their relationship. However, putting your wedding on TV does open you up to criticism. "Some people loved it and some people judged us for it" the couple explained. But they're both certain in all the choices they have made along the way and know it was the perfect day for the both of them.
Surprises Take The Cake...
Planning a special surprise for Cam, only two people were in on the secret. While doing her speech, Jules revealed she had spent months collaborating with Jeremy from Tillee Music to write a song for Cam. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as Jeremy performed the song live for the first time while the happy couple waltzed. Looking back on the day, both of them agree this is one of their favourite moments.
Words Of Advice...
Quickly Cam and Jules realised that planning a wedding is like a full-time job. "Even if we had a year, I don't think it would've been long enough" Jules shares. Having a wedding planner was a huge help for the couple and Fiona from Couture Wedding Planning had a spreadsheet for every detail of their day! Having someone who is on top of the whole process lets you enjoy the planning phase rather than feeling overwhelmed. Some advice from the couple to others planning their wedding is to remember to support one another throughout the whole process.
