How To Write a Romantic Love Letter

Modern Wedding Posted February 14, 2017

Valentine's Day is a great reminder to tell those you love just how much! In a world immersed in social media, acronyms and instant messaging, a hand written love letter is a real treasure and a wonderful gift for your love! Need to brush up on your letter writing? Check out our five tips below!

O N E

Date your letter! Ideally, your words will be read over and over again and because it is a physical letter,  you can't rely on a digital time stamp to remind your Valentine of when the letter was written.

T W O

Hand write your letter and put it in an envelope. Envelopes so rarely deliver anything sentimental so opening it up will only add to the excitement! Also hand write your letter - it's much more personal.

T H R E E

Remind them of something special that you've shared together - an anniversary, a special memory an inside joke. Make it personal!

F O U R

Remind your Valentine of something special that you love about them, but might not necessarily tell them often enough.

Sign your letter off with something that is packed with sentiment. Rather than signing off with "yours truly, name" personalise your sign off with a sweet message or your nickname or with a final profession of your love. Something like "Loving you for the rest of my life" or "Love you to the moon and back", so long as it is not out of character.
