How To Style Bright With Cobalt Blue At Your Wedding

Modern Wedding Posted: March 9, 2016

INTROIMAGE

Colour your wedding day with striking Cobalt Blue. This bright and bold colour is at once cool and calming but also vibrant and lively! The elegance and freshness of the colour palette may be used any time of the year and just about anywhere, from a backyard event, to a daytime affair or even into the evening in a ballroom.

For a stiking, bold yet classic mood, select geometric patterned fabrics to go with distinctive dinnerware, table ware and decorative details. Combine this with crisp white and the intense shade of cobalt blue to create contrast throughout.

If you prefer a softer more romantic look, combine textiles that are less intense in colour and have a less distinctive design. Smaller patterns are not as formal and look more feminine. Try mixing and matching floral patterns to create a more eclectic, relaxed feel.

Depending on the season, blue flowers may not be available. If this is the case, select white flowers and display them in coloured vases or containers. Another alternative is to purchase some artificial blue flowers and mix them together with fresh white flowers.

The styling ideas shown can be easily replicated by a bride on any budget. For example, the something-blue colour scheme, even though ideal for a summer beach wedding, does not have to be all sand and seashells. It could be tailored to a snazzy reception in a fine dining restaurant in the city or a winter wedding in the snowfields.

Adding a contrasting colour can change the look dramatically. The more adventurous you can be with the colour the more striking the effect.

To a classic blue and white colour palette, we have added a warm, vibrant orange, to create a fresh, lively look that fits in perfectly with the brilliance of an outdoor wedding on a summer’s day.
