Every couple has to endure the pre-wedding jitters. You have been planning your special day for months, so it is natural to feel nervous before walking down the aisle. Follow these simple tips to keep calm the morning of the wedding and to ensure a stress-free and wonderful wedding day.
Prepare accordingly...
If like me, you are more relaxed when you are organised, this is one step you can't skip. Ensure all your bags are packed for the wedding night and honeymoon the night before the wedding. Designate a person to make sure all these bags make it to the bridal suite or the hotel room. Perhaps a bridesmaid, mother or sister.
Military precision...
Print out a list of all your vendors contact numbers and their arrival times, so everyone is aware when people are coming and going on the big day. This will prove vital for a smooth bump in and out on the day.
Get some shut eye...
Easier said than done, we know. But at least TRY to get a few solid hours sleep the night before the wedding. A good start is putting your phone on 'do not disturb' and tuck yourself into bed at a decent hour.
Eat and drink...
So many couples forget this vital step- DRINK WATER! Keeping your hydrated body before, during and after the wedding is the key to glowing skin and reducing unwanted bloating. Eating something healthy and high in protein will also give you the energy you need to withstand the day. You will be standing and entertaining for long periods of time and your body needs fuel for you to correctly do this!
Work that body...
If exercising is something you normally do at the start of your day, don't change your normal routine. Even a small leisurely stroll around the block the morning of the wedding will release endorphins that will get you feeling good and energised for the exciting day ahead.
Use those around you...
Just because you are the bride and groom, doesn't mean you need to be the point of contact for every vendor. Take advantage of your family and friends, or even hire a day of coordinator to allow you to enjoy the day without any stress.
Meditate..
Take just two minutes by yourself away from everyone else to breathe and focus on the day ahead. Picture the moment you walk down the aisle and see your partner. Try and focus on the good things and not everything that could potentially go wrong. Mobile phone applications like headspace are extremely beneficial if this is something you’re not good at doing on your own.
Write any concerns you have down on a piece of paper...
For list makers this is a good way of working through any problems that you may be stressing about. There’s something about being able to write problems down that makes them easier to deal with.
