The Tea Room QVB is an historic building, a grand ballroom in the heart of the CBD. The room itself boasts elegance, opulence and romance. Breathtaking photographic opportunities are available within the Queen Victoria Building while high ornate windows reflect the beauty of the room. A completely open planned space, with no viewing obstructions, means all the guests feel a part of the wedding.
What unique services does the venue offer?
All our food is made on premise which enables our guests to enjoy a fine dining restaurant service in an event environment. Very high ratio of staff to guests ensures a world class dining experience plus personalised reception planning from beginning to end.

Head Chef Shane Davey is more than happy to personalise the menu to individual client tastes. It's very important to us that the bride and groom enjoy what they love on their wedding day....
Are there any advantages of getting married at a certain time of the year, month or week?
We offer reduced prices in Winter, along with mid week weddings. Still very popular times to be married, and the product offering is exactly the same just with a more competitive rate.
What is the configuration of the room and is this flexible?
The bridal table can be traditionally long with a dance floor in the centre and guest tables on either side, or a round bridal table with the dance floor on the west side of the room creating a more intimate space with guests surrounding the bride and groom.
Are drinks provided under a 'standard beverage package'? Are you able to source particular wines?
Beverages are served as part of a package, and we have 4 packages to select from depending on client budget and palette. We can always source wines for any clients looking for something in particular.
Is parking provided for guests?
Paid parking is available in the Queen Victoria Building
Is the duration of the reception flexible or does it need to adhere to a set amount of hours?
Ultimately the guest can choose the amount of hours, although we recommend 6 hours to ensure you complete all the formalities and allow for plenty of dancing....at the end of the day its about fun, so be sure to have enough hours to enjoy!!
