Media personality and bridal fashion designer, Henry Roth, is on his Australian roadshow right now and will be visiting Melbourne on Saturday 18th August and the Gold Coast on Saturday 25th August. Today he's in Canberra.
As part of his roadshow Henry has been showcasing his latest bridal collection and having one-on-one consultations with some lucky Australian brides-to-be.
We were able to get some style tips and wedding advice from the funny and flamboyant Henry, when he popped in to see Sydney earlier this month.
What's your top style tip for brides?
Don't over-accessorise. Knowing when to start is as important as knowing when to stop as far as your styling goes.
What colours are 'in'?
There is still a predominance of ivory, light ivory, diamond white or candlelight, nothing too creamy or yellow. The use of blush in bridal seems to be coming in too.
What are your top five bridal trend tips for 2013?
- Hair: 1940s Greta Garbo styles - very tight and controlled waves or tousled up-dos
- Makeup: Natural is in!
- Gowns: It's all about the vintage 21st century modern day princess
- Accessories: Go with one signature piece that is significant and dominant
- Work it your way! In 2013, more than any other year, it will be about your personal style and signature - if you love the gown that you are wearing that is all that matters
What do you love about what you do?
Weddings are a moment in people's lives that is supercharged with excitement and challenges. The truth is I love diving into the middle of it!
If you missed out on seeing Henry for a consultation, he does have a boutique in Surry Hills (Sydney) and New York. His gowns can also be purchased from various retailers throughout Australia.
