T A N I A & N I C K
A series of secret letters, mystery drivers, pampering and flowers lead Tania to Nick on one knee and a perfect seaside engagement!
ABOUT US
Nick and Tania met one summers evening at a mutual friends house and within 2 months of knowing each other decided to move to Bali on a whim, in search of adventure. "It wasn’t until we reached Bali that I truly acknowledged that I had completely fallen for him. Since then we have been inseparable".
A SEASIDE ENGAGEMENT
Tania, being a jewellery designer made proposing a challenge for Nick, so he had to think outside the box, planning a proposal that blew his bride to be away. "With a series of secret letters, mystery drivers, pampering, flowers and a beautiful new dress, Nick’s clues led me on an evening adventure that eventually took me back to Clovelly, where we had had our first date".
Guided by a candlelit path, Tania met Nick down on the rocks, where he was waiting for her with open arms and oddly enough a gum ball machine.
"As I told Nick early on in our relationship never to buy me jewellery, he had to get creative and handed me a small ring box with a one dollar coin. "I'd like you to design your ring but in the meantime we need a placeholder... so if you wouldn't mind" He said, indicating the gum ball machine. I laughed and took the coin and placed it in the slot. A with a simple click, a pink love heart ring emerged and with that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him".
Crowds had formed along the cliff and the couple turned to find people cheering and waving as Nick swung Tania around in his arms yelling "she said YES!".
"By the sea and under the most incredible moonlight, I couldn't have been happier" Tania says.
TELL US ABOUT THE RING
Tania found designing her own wedding ring to be her most challenging project so far.
"With so many options and free rein, it was so difficult to decide what kind of piece I wanted to create. After a lot of deliberation I realised that whatever I created needed to be linked to our story. I wanted to design a piece that was truly unique to Nick and I, and so, inspired by the magical full moon that lit up my ocean proposal, I created two rings to represent the moon and it's reflection on the waves below.
I hand carved each ring, cast them in Australian gold and set them with beautiful clear diamonds. They are perfectly imperfect, as we all are, and they are a constant reminder of the love that went into making them and the magic that was the evening that Nick proposed" says Tania.
ANY PLANS FOR THE WEDDING YET?
Before making any wedding plans, right now Nick & Tania are soaking up the joy and excitement that comes with being engaged and are heading to Italy in a few weeks so Nick can meet some of Tania's extended family. And can't wait for...
"Celebrating the start of a wonderful new chapter together with our family and friends, we can’t wait to dance the night away!" says Tania.
