Emma and Daniel's timeless Gold Coast wedding was styled to absolute perfection! Incorporating a classic black and white colour scheme, elegant décor choices and a totally unique reception venue, this coastal wedding was utterly divine in every way.
University Love...
This loved up pair met over a decade ago while they were both studying at university, and it didn't take long for them to realise they had found a forever love. "On our first date, we went for a beach walk where we shared a great connection and immediately knew we had something special," recalls Emma. From that point forward, Emma and Daniel were inseparable.
Love In Tasmania...
Despite discussing engagement plans and looking at rings together, Daniel still managed to completely surprise Emma with an uber-romantic proposal. The couple were staying at Daniel's family cabin on the West Coast of Tasmania which Daniel decorated with fragrant roses and elegant candles along with a spread of delicious food and champagne around an open fireplace. "Amongst the breathtaking display of flowers and candles, Daniel had set up a chalkboard and written the magic words, 'Will you marry me?'" shares Emma. The happily engaged couple phoned their close family and friends to share their exciting news before announcing their engagement to the rest of the world through a classic social media post.
Black And White Wedding...
Once Emma and Daniel returned from their dream getaway to Tasmania, it was time to start thinking about wedding planning! "We wanted to create a day that was simple, low-key and fun, yet very elegant," explains Emma. The couple settled on a timeless feel of classic black and white styling with subtle colours entwined throughout the décor.
Dressed To Impress...
Daniel had three of his closest friends in his groomsmen gang on the big day. For the groomsmen looks, Daniel kept things in the family and the men were dressed by his uncle who owns a menswear store. Their totally dapper outfits perfectly complemented Daniel's refined and classic look: a black tuxedo paired with a smart bow-tie.
Bottle Green Babes...
Emma had a bride tribe of three which was made up of her two sisters and best friend. Emma made her bridesmaids proposals super festive, asking her sisters over nibbles and drinks at Christmas time and enlisting her best friend to be part of the big day on New Year's Eve. Emma's bridesmaids were dressed by Shona Joy in a sophisticated bottle green slip dress paired with pearl hoop earrings and nude coloured shoes.
Lovely Lace...
Emma looked every bit the glamorous, traditional bride in a stunning Made With Love Bridal gown. The gown was made with beautiful, unique and elegant white lace and featured a sweet V-neckline, flattering fitted bodice and dramatic train. "I first saw and fell in love with the gown a few years prior to the wedding on Pinterest," says Emma, "After trying on a few gowns from different showrooms, I without a doubt always came back to my original favourite". The timeless look of hand-made lace was completed with a 3m long cathedral veil and an elegant bridal bouquet of Playa Blanca long-stem roses.
We're Going To The Chapel...
Emma and Daniel tied the knot at the beautiful Braeside Chapel in Merrimac on Australia's Gold Coast. The couple wrote their own vows which added an incredibly sentimental element to the whole day. Emma also shared that she will always cherish the moment her father walked her down the aisle as it was such a beautiful and emotional moment for them to share together.
Styled To Perfection...
After a beautiful Gold Coast wedding ceremony, the celebrations moved to Bumbles Cafe on Budds Beach. "We loved our reception venue because it had such a unique character with books, photo frames, candles and vases decorating each section of the cafe," gushes Emma. Bumbles Cafe offered a totally unique space so Emma and Daniel kept their reception décor refined with elegant black and white theming. "We added long tables with white coverings and napkins, black and white signage as well as white flower arrangements," shares Emma. The reception styling was elevated by enchanting details such as striking green foliage in mason jars and beautiful white pillar candles in glass cylinder holders.
Sweet Treats...
One of the most attention-grabbing details of the reception styling was Emma and Daniel's stunning wedding cake! The semi-nude 12 layer torte cake was chocolate flavoured with luscious layers of chocolate cream, topped with white and green florals. The delicious surprises didn't end there though! Emma and Daniel gifted each of their guests with cookie bites from the Byron Bay Cookie Company as bonbonnieres. The mouth-watering flavours the newlyweds chose were milk chocolate chip and white chocolate with macadamias.
Breath Of Fresh Air...
Emma and Daniel's magical day was captured by Bird And Boy Photography. "We chose Bird And Boy Photography because we loved their natural styling," explains Emma, "They really guided us and captured the natural emotions of our special day so well". Emma and Daniel both agree that one of their favourite memories from the big day happened at the hands of their amazing photographers. On the back deck of Bumble Cafes, their photographers styled a beautiful scene using a cosy rug, flower vases and candles, and during the reception, they led the newlyweds outside to enjoy a special moment of serenity. "It was so special to be able to enjoy a few minutes together amidst the wedding mayhem so we made sure to hold hands, close our eyes and soak up the moment," shares Emma.
Advice From Us...
Once the whirlwind of wedding magic wrapped up, Emma and Daniel jetted off for a romantic honeymoon of Italian adventures. Over three weeks, the couple travelled to Rome, Positano, Florence, Impruneta and Lake Como as well as the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. With a totally dreamy Gold Coast wedding under their belt, the newlyweds shared some advice for couples in the midst of wedding planning. "It's important to decide early on whether you want to organise elements of the wedding by yourself or pay a planner or stylist to do it for you," advises Emma, "If you decide to do it on your own, make sure you have plenty of time leading up to the day to get it done because we definitely could have done with some more time!" The couple shared that their wedding ideas often got bigger and more luxurious very quickly so it was important for them to keep coming back to their original ideas. "If you have the choice, make decisions as a couple because trying to consider too many others in every little detail is challenging to balance," shares Emma. We couldn't agree more and wish this gorgeous couple the very best!
