For a number of reasons including wedding budget, personalisation or just because they look great, DIY weddings are hot right now. The Editor of Modern Wedding DIY, Gail MacDiarmid, is today giving us a behind the scenes tour of one of the wedding styling shoots she just wrapped up for the upcoming issue.
Gail: "Its time again to start developing and creating beautiful ideas and projects for the next issue of Modern Wedding DIY magazine which is out the first week in November. Even though it seems a long way off, there is a lot to do to bring you a magazine packed full of inspiration and tutorials.
It was great to catch up with the very talented Sarah again from Princess Allure Boutique Events and work with her on her latest styled shoot that will be featured in the next edition. You must have a browse of her wedding styling inspirations!
Sarah was inspired by the current 'ombre' trend in wedding décor and, with that in mind, she set about creating an impressive example of the effect in shades of aqua and coral for our readers. (For those of you who don't know what ombre is, it's simply a gradation of each of the colours used and when it is used throughout a wedding, it looks gorgeous.)
It was all hands on deck to get everything set up and styled before Kendell, from Imagine Images, could start shooting. Christine, Sarah's mum, works diligently beside Sarah helping with the finishing touches and it is very much a family affair with Sarah's dad on the sidelines taking care of Mirabelle, Sarah's 3 month old daughter. Once everyone was happy with the first set-up, Kendell started photographing and the girls move on to setting up the candy buffet. With such a slick team, the day ran smoothly and no time was lost moving from one set-up to another.
Before we knew it, it was the end of another successful shoot full of DIY tips and prettiness. All will be revealed in the November edition of Modern Wedding DIY magazine, so check it out when it appears and let us know your thoughts.
