Valentines Day is just 3 days away, but I think when you're engaged Valentines day is different. It's not about secret crushes, new declarations of love or a day to feel lonely and sad, no Valentines Day for an engaged couple is a day to appreciate each other, a day to value the love that you share and look forward to the adventure you're embarking upon as you become husband and wife.
You may tempted to skip Valentines Day all together -we know that engaged couples are strapped for cash- fancy dinners and luxurious presents aren't really on the cards when you're amidst wedding planning, but in the spirit of love we want to encourage you to celebrate in a different way this year...with a little DIY that is easy on the wallet and super loved-up! These projects are so simple, but they still manage to keep the romance alive. We're bringing them to you a little early so you have plenty of time to create!
SAY IT ON TOAST
Serve breakfast in bed complete with handmade 'heart' toast. Imprint the heart shape with a cookie cutter into the bread before toasting. Serve with your partner's favourite topping and freshly brewed tea or coffee.
LOVE-YOU GIFT WRAPPING
What you will need: Stampin' Up I {Love} Love Wheel and Real Red Classic Ink Pad, white paper, satin ribbon.
How to create: Cover the wheel with red ink and roll onto plain white paper with no gaps between rows. Once dry, wrap your gifts and tie with a bow. Wheel and ink pad available from www.stampinup.com.au
TEA BAG WITH A MESSAGE
You will need: Red Paper, cotton thread, heart template, glue stick, white ink pen, heat sealable tea bags.
How to create: Draw a 4cm x 4cm heart shape and make a template. You will need two hearts for each tea bag. Cut out as many as you need and glue two together with cotton thread between them. Make sure to line the thread up in the centre of each heart. Fill tea bags with your own special brew of tea leaves (Or head to T2!). Place the other end of the cotton thread in the bag and press with a warm iron to seal. Heat sealable tea bags are available from www.aussiesoapsupplies.com.au
YOU'RE ONE IN A MILLION
Fill an old pasta sauce or jam jar with his/her second favourite treat and drop in just one of his/her favourite treats (you can give them the rest later!) Tag the jar 'You're one in a million' or 'You're one of a kind' and tie with their favourite colour ribbon. Too simple, too cute.
