Lauren speaks with so much love of Andrew, she loves his kindness. She admires his patience, his generosity and playfulness. He has a sense of fun, strength of will and a willingness to try new things. She likes the look of him -- his smile, his eyes and his cheeky grin. He is a great hugger, an okay dancer, and a man who can cook -- but only on the grill!
Andrew loves Lauren for her kindness, her generosity towards the community from her teaching, through to her disability work with adults and children. She gives so much to what she believes in and he feels privileged to be marrying a person who inspires him to be the best person he can be. She gives him an inner strength to do and face anything head on and is truly blessed to be married to the girl of his dreams.
F R O M T H E B R I D E & G R O O M . . .
We first met...
At the very fine establishment of bar 8 a local pool hall turned night club, back in 2004 through mutual friends. It was not love at first sight for Lauren but I couldn’t keep my eyes off this beautiful blonde girl, and had to pursue my eagerness to know more about this girl they called bibby!
The proposal...
About 9 years passed before I finally took Lauren away on a holiday to Bali to get the job done…What could be more memorable than a romantic Bali dinner under a star-studded moonlit sky..
Let me set the scene… A path leads to a wooden jetty stretching 30 meters out to sea. At the end of the pier, table awaits. Soft music from bamboo xylophones accompanies the sound of the ocean as the beautifully presented 4-course dinner and the most marvelous dessert imaginable.
A true romantic, down on one knee…
She said yes.
Marriage to us means...
a commitment and that requires work. It means mutual, trust and safety, sharing joy and sorrow, and making space for both individual growth and growth together.
Before the big day...
We held our engagement party at the pump house in Fitzroy.
Ceremony & reception location...
At our private property in Trentham East.
Wedding Theme...
Country elegance/rustic. Sophisticated Cocktail Party - Colours, White and Ivory, muted peach, pinks and green.
Photography...
We wanted to be able to capture our wedding in a rustic natural way. Karen & Ell are a mother daughter duo from Shot From The Heart Photography who are obsessed with life, light and capturing little movements that create it. Their portfolio speaks for itself - they capture full emotion and natural beauty.
The wedding party...
There were 3 groomsmen and 3 bridesmaids – 2 of the bridesmaids are sisters to Lauren – Jess & Emma. The rest are close friends
The dress...
Ornate lace overlaying a sweetheart neckline, flowing into a pleated belt with contemporary floral applique and an exquisite keyhole back.
The wedding gown was brought from Raffaele Ciuca in Brunswick,Victoria.
Bridesmaids' dresses...
A pink champagne maxi dress with lace detailing.
Groom and groomsmen...
Briggins Suits – Blue tailored suits with a white shirt, a navy tie with white spots with brown shoes and brown belt.
Bombonniere...
The guests were given a key designed bottle opener and a selection of lollies in a craft style bag.
Flowers...
Flowers in a Vase in Woodend created the flowers and Country Style Events from Woodend helped put together our ideas on the day. We wanted or floral arrangements asymmetrical, relatively formal with country styling. We used free form natural stem asymmetrical posy styles containing predominantly premium white/ivory David Austin premium roses; perennials in muted peach, ivory, white and soft blush pinks including Hypericum Berry, Sweet peas and complimentary seasonal varieties; and bound them in complimentary binding and pearl head pins.
Decor...
The marquee theme was to capture a country feel with a modern contemporary twist. Pallets were used to create a simple effective layout by dividing the marquee with four centrepiece bar tables surrounded by tall white bar stools topped with huge autumn floral foliage in white milk creates. A cake, gift and lolly table also made out of pallets stacks were trending towards a 8 meter pallet bar covered by a huge rustic garland draped with autumnal foliage splashed with highlights of Hydrangea and berries.
Cake...
Blackbird Cakes in Woodend made our cake.
Wedding songs...
Our wedding song is 'falling in love with you' by Elvis and our exit song was 'Song bird' by Eva Cassidy. The very talented Gary Eastwood played a variety of songs throughout the night. We were welcomed to the sounds of uptown funk; first dance was by Keith Urban – 'without you'; the father daughter dance was to 'brown eyed girl' by Van Morrison and we cut the cake to 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat.
