After 5 years together Ben and Lauren tied the knot with a weekend long affair. They kicked off the celebrations with a welcome dinner on Friday night as guests arrived from varied places and distances. "We wanted to make a weekend of it and spend time with everyone," says the couple. The following day, Ben and Lauren began to open notes from each other every hour leading up to the wedding ceremony. The romantic gesture was particularly memorable for the couple along with seeing each other at the ceremony for the first time. Lauren wore a simple, classic gown with flower feature at the front and cute pockets. "We couldn't pick just 1 or 2 of our friends to have in our bridal party so we decided to have my 3 nieces and 1 nephew as flower girls/paige boy instead," says Lauren. Their ceremony, held at a private residence in Palm Beach, was followed by a reception at The Boathouse where their rustic theme in a colour palette of soft pinks and cream really came to life.
The Boathouse was adorned with dozens of flowers...Dahlias, hydrangeas, roses and lisianthus. The flowers were arranged in bunches and in buckets to keep things simple and natural. "I felt amazing with so many beautiful flowers around and that's what I think really made the reception," says Lauren. Adding to the decor was a dessert table featuring their lemon and poppy seed flavour wedding cake along with cupcakes, heart shaped cookies, snowballs and lollies. The wedding cake was a perfect fit with soft cream icing set in ruffles with silver edging and a big fresh dahlia bloom on top. And as for the honeymoon... "Hawaii is coming up," says Lauren.
