Wedding Photography...
We loved his vibe, his photographs were more natural than posed . We loved that. We love the beautiful locations used and the colour he used for the photos too. It really complimented the overcast weather that day.
We first met...
At a Bar in Terrigal when we were 19 years old.
We knew it was love...
After spending countless nights giggling and talking about nothing and everything until the early hours of the morning.
The proposal...
Saturday 26.4.14 (we had been together since 2007).
We were in Queensland for the long weekend staying at a friends place. We decided to hire a car and spend some time by ourselves on the Saturday. He told me we were going to drive to Byron Bay for the day... An hour later we were on our way to Mt Tambourine for a surprise horse riding session. This was followed by a surprise picnic lunch at O’Reilly’s vineyards. We sat by the river and as he asked me to face the river for a nice photo, he got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I cried and happily replied ‘of course I will’.
Our wedding vision...
Chic, vintage style with nude and natural colours and a splash of lace.
The ceremony venue...
Mercure Resort Lodge garden, Hunter Valley.
The reception venue...
Mercure Resort, Riesling room.
Pre-wedding parties...
Many close family and friends stayed in the Hunter Valley the night before so we all met at a local pub for dinner and drinks.
The bridal party...
We had six bridesmaids and six groomsmen.
Bridesmaids wore...
A long, pale pink dress from Forever New with a beaded top and a cut out feature on the back.
Groomsmen wore...
A textured navy blue suit with a white button up shirt, tan shoes and belt. Groom wore a navy print bow tie and groomsmen wore ties with the same print.
The dress...
I wore the "Landra", a tulle A-line wedding dress with a sheer draped v-neckline and guipure applique by Pronovias. I bought it from Fashions by Farina.
The flowers...
I had baby’s breath flowers for my bridesmaids. I had them delivered in bunches by Valley Fresh Flowers and I tied them myself with a hessian and lace wrap.
Decor...
I hired a wedding stylist (Sarah – That Perfect Touch Design and Hire). We had baby’s breath in vases as our centre piece for each table accompanied by white lanterns and a variety of glass jars (white, clear and gold) with candles. We also had white and gold sequined table runners.
On the menu...
MEZZE PLATTERS
Cold platter of sliced cured meats, prosciutto ham, salami, coppa ham, cheese platters, Hunter olives, house made dips.
ENTREES
Salt and pepper calamari, Vietnamese salad
Baked spinach and ricotta cannelloni with wok seared tomato and basil fondue
MAINS
Pan seared Atlantic salmon, steamed asparagus, smashed potato and herb beurre blanc.
Marinated chicken breast with cumin seed and coriander vegetable couscous, young beans
DESSERT
Wedding cake
Bonbonniere...
We wrapped sugar coated almonds in gauze material with a lace trim, tied with twine.
Memorable moments...
Our Groomsman Joel chauffeured a rapper to our wedding to perform a rap for us as our wedding gift. Very funny and completely random. Our speeches were another highlight.
Wedding Soundtrack...
'The Wedding Song' by Angus and Julia Stone (processional)
'At Last' by Etta James (first dance)
'I Want To Grow Old With You' by Adam Sandler (signing)
'Horses' by Daryl Braithwaite (reception departure as we walked through a tunnel of sparklers)
Honeymoon...
Hawaii for 3 weeks
The future...
Begin our careers as an Occupational Therapist and a Property Valuer (Jacob), travel to Europe, get a dog, buy a house and start our family.
In 40 years we hope to...
Have travelled all over the world and continuing to do this, have our own family and grandchildren, own a few properties, hopefully be retired and living on an acreage close to the beach.

Advice on enjoying the engagement...
Keep the engagement party low key, simple and affordable. The wedding can get out of control (financially) so use this time to celebrate with close friends and family in an intimate setting. We had ours at Yarramalong community hall, decorated it ourselves and had a big BBQ. It was perfect.
Planning advice...
Remind yourselves what the celebration is really about... your love. It’s so easy to become incredibly stressed so it’s important to stop and think about what all this planning is for. Talking to friends and family will help with this. My mum was a huge support throughout my most stressful (and crying) moments.
On how to enjoy the wedding day...
Enjoy and take in every moment of your special day because it flies by. Remember that your guests will be unaware of any problems that arise on the day as they will be enjoying the day as well so let go and be present on your wedding day.
