Clean lines, marble and gorgeous florals imbued Nikki and Andrew's lively celebration.

We first met...
Andy and I were friends for years prior to dating, originally meeting through friends in high school. I wish I had a spectacular meeting story but it’s really pretty basic! Haha.
We knew it was love...
I think when you realise you want to spend every waking second with someone, it’s pretty clear. This was pretty much it from day one with us! (Andy will argue it was progressive and took time. He’s lying) haha.
The proposal...
Andy organised the most incredible surprise engagement. I was under the impression I was meeting my girlfriends for lunch at the Epicurean in Red Hill. When I walked in, I was led to a private room out the back. I opened the door and there were photos of Andy and I around the room and our favourite song ('Vanderlyle' by The National) was playing. He walked in wearing a suit and dropped a knee, holding this beautiful ring that I still can’t believe he designed. It was pretty spesh! He then organised for both our families and close friends to meet us for a lunch. We drank a lot of wine!

Our photographers...
Lyndel and Daniel from Lost in Love Photography are old friends as well as brilliant photographers. They are such beautiful, calm people to be around, and were a constant joy on the day. I honestly don’t think I could love our photos any more than I do. They are light, bright, fun and they make me smile every single time I look at them. I could not recommend these two highly enough!
Dream wedding style...
I spent a lot of hours scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest. I collected so many photos of things I loved. I noticed a recurring theme of bright coloured flowers with deep magentas, whites and blush. I was also loving the geometric themed arbors and table settings against marble paper goods. I wanted clean lines with pops of bright colour against the super modern architecture of Port Phillip Estate. Andy and I both work in the building industry so we like clean lines and a nice balance of tones. My suppliers nailed it!
Ceremony and reception venue...
Pre-wedding celebrations...
All the ‘girls’ were staying at Port Phillip Estate the night before the wedding, so we all went to The Epicurean (where we got Engaged) with all the special Ladies in my life, including all my aunties, mum, mother in law, cousins and Brideslaves. I mean Bridesmaids. ;P
The Day after the wedding we invited everyone to the Sorrento Hotel. That was a super fun day!
The bridal party...
We had four each. The bridesmaids wore white Carla Zampatti full length dresses and the groom and groomsmen wore Oscar Hunt tailored suits – (They particularly enjoyed the scotch bar at the fittings).
The dress...
I knew exactly what I wanted. I went to meet Silvana Tedesco (who is now also a great friend!) and she literally picked the image out of my brain and sketched it on the paper. She is an absolute treasure. I always had complete faith that we were on the same page. The final dress was even better than anything I could of imagined. She literally brings dreams to life (that sounds lame but it’s so true! Haha)
Wedding flowers...
As the Port Phillip Estate building is made up of dark timber and rammed earth walls, I wanted bright, colourful blooms, they also looked incredible against all the girls all in white. We were married on the deck which has a stunning backdrop of the vineyard and Port Phillip bay. Poppy Culture also designed the most stunning geometric arbour to tie in with all of the reception decorations as well.
Reception decor...
Marble feature place cards with geometric cubes, rose gold vases and bright coloured flowers.
On the menu...
We had a sit down reception which started with canapés then a three course meal that was served in a sharing table style.
Capapes – Oysters, Champagne Vinaigrette and BBQ prawn skewer, chilli and Lime.
Entrée – Seared Scollops, apple Puree, shaved fennel, sherry caramel and roasted Quail, heirloom carrots, smoked yoghurt with grains.
Main – Eye Fillet of beef with wilted greens and fillet of blue eye, parsley risotto, horseradish cream.
Dessert – Vanilla Panna Cotta, berries, champagne jelly and Soft Centred chocolate pudding, croquant, passionfruit caramel.
Wedding bonbonniere...
I asked all the ladies at my Hens Party to bring their favourite recipe along. I had all the recipes printed in a personalised recipe book to give to the guests. Everybody loved it!
Memorable moments...
Andy had a ring designed using the sapphire from my Grandmother's ring. It was given to me the morning of the wedding. My sister also pulled out my 14 year old diary during her speech, not sure if that’s a good memory or not! Haha.
Wedding soundtrack...
We walked down the aisle to a live acoustic of ‘My Girl’ by The Temptations, signed the registry to ‘These arms of mine’ by Otis Redding, walked into the reception to ‘Brown Sugar’ by The Rolling Stones and our first dance was to ‘Vanderlyle’ by The National (The song Andy proposed to).

Honeymoon...
We are actually about to head off on our belated Honeymoon to Europe!
The future...
Involves growing up, which we don’t really want to do! But I guess it’s inevitable hey! I think we just plan on being healthy, happy and having fun!
In 40 years we hope to…
Still have as much fun together as we do now!

How to enjoy the engagement...
Give yourself enough time before the wedding to ease the stress!
Planning tips!
Delegate! It’s too much for one person to do! And don’t tell your husband the real cost of everything! Haha.
On how to enjoy your wedding day...
Don’t get too caught up in the little details! The most important thing is that you are surrounded by people you love.
