As lovers of the sea, this couple started their life together in true Sarah & Pete style. Pete whisked Sarah away to a romantic weekend in Byron Bay where, on the sandy beach wearing his best boardies, he got down on one knee.
The couple were married at Airlie Beach in North Queensland and celebrated with a cocktail party by the sea. Choosing where they were to be married was the easy part according to Sarah... after all what beach loving couple could go past the azure waters of the north with its magnificent white stretches of sand? With the help of her three beautiful, pink bridesmaids the rest of the planning fell into place.
This wedding is making me smile today... it exudes happiness, love and fun...
" I flew my flowers up from Brisbane (which was fairly stressful) but they were absolutely stunning! They consisted of Cymbidium orchids, roses, lisianthus and freesias."
The cake consisted of three different flavours of cupcake (Chocolate, coconut and macadamia; Raspberry and almond; Lemon with a fruit cake cutting cake on top). Yum!
Sarah wore a beautiful Fiorenza gown, with a sweetheart neckline. The strapless gown featured a dropped waistline and a pearl beaded vintage belt. The bridesmaids wore dusty pink gowns from Lulu (Brisbane). The boys all hired their suits from Stirling Formal Wear from Proserpine, near Airlie Beach. After their beautiful cocktail garden party by the sea, Sarah and Pete sailed off for seven days, with just each others company, around the Whitsunday Islands. "Utter bliss!"
Advice from Sarah: "Video everything! I can hardly remember the day it went by so quickly. It's hard not to get caught up in the stress of the planning, but remember what the day is all about. It isn't about the decorations or the seating plan etc, it's about you marrying the man of your dreams:)" Great advice Sarah!
