The Meeting...
We met in high school at aged 15. I moved to the school in Year 9 and started talking to this fun, cheeky red headed boy (Chris). We constantly laughed and had fun together and never took things too seriously. From there, we became the best of friends and were inseparable. We barely had time away from each other and if we did, we would text each other or talk on the phone. We were truly in love. Now the rest is history and we are married and have been together for 12 years. They have been the most fun, magical and lovable 12 years of our lives.
Love...
When we started becoming closer friends and seeing how similar we were, we could see it was ‘love’. As our relationship grew, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him and our relationship blossomed from there.
The Proposal...
We got engaged in Fiji 3 years ago. It was an absolutely amazing and magical experience.
Wedding Style...
From the start, we wanted a relaxed, beach style wedding. We wanted to keep the colour palette neutral (white, cream, grey) with a hint of blue which represents the water/beach. We wanted it to be a small wedding with close family only so we could take time to talk to all of our guests and share the intimate moment with them. We ended up having 15 guests at our wedding and we knew it was the best idea for us.
Ceremony Location...
Casuarina Gardens in Noosaville. It was a beautiful garden setting with Noosa main beach in the background. You could hear the waves and feel the breeze during our ceremony. It was breathtaking.
Reception Venue...
Ricky’s Restaurant and River Bar in Noosaville.
The Dress...
My bridal gown was made by the amazing Anna Campbell. It was bought from Anna’s Armadale boutique in Melbourne. I wanted my gown to be comfortable and flowy with a hint of Grecian style. It had amazing hand stitched diamante embellishment on the bodice which twinkled in the sunlight and gave it a hint of sparkle (which is what I wanted). It was stunning. It was exactly what I envisioned and I felt like a goddess in it.
The Flowers...
My bouquet was made with pastel coloured roses and baby’s breath surrounding it. I wanted something pastel and natural for my bouquet so it would pop next to my bone coloured dress.
Decorations...
We wanted neutral and ocean themed decorations at our reception venue. We had tea lights surrounding the table with shells, twine, small boats and starfish as centrepieces.
On the Menu...
We had a sit down dinner with an a la carte style menu. We had 4 courses on the menu and our guests had 4 different options to choose from per course. We wanted our guests to be accommodated and have a variety of food to choose from. Our families loved the food.
Wedding Photography...
We found Karen online and her photos were breath taking. As soon as we saw them, I called her and asked her to photograph our wedding.
We love the pop of colour with a natural, relaxed vibe. The photos capture who we are as a couple and our personalities. The photos weren’t staged or ‘put on’ they were ‘in the moment’ and captured our day perfectly. We would recommend Karen to everyone who is getting married in Noosa and can’t thank her enough for her amazing photos she took of our wedding day.
Memorable Moments...
The whole day/night was magical. It was the best day of our lives and we would do it over and over again if we could. We have never smiled and been as happy as we were that day.
Wedding Songs...
Eric Clapton – Wonderful tonight
Alicia Keys – No One
Ed Sheeran – Thinking out loud
Ed Sheeran – Tenerife Sea
Honeymoon...
We stayed in Noosa for 2 weeks after our wedding and we classified that as our ‘mini honeymoon’. We would love to travel to England and Ireland next year to see family and have a big honeymoon.
