Fiorenza Collections for Brides
Modern Wedding has chatted with, probed and prodded the top Australian bridal designers to find out what’s hot this year and what brides should look out for when they hit the shops.
Once again these clever and inspirational designers have raised the bar, using incredible fabrics, laces and details.
Their ranges are so diverse that really you can find whatever your heart desires, but if you want to be at the forefront of the new fashions then listen up… err read up.
Monique from Peter Trends Bridal says, “You can always rely on a classic look, but then every few years things change slightly according to the way we live and the kind of weddings we have. Girls, today are now looking for things more contemporary to wear to cocktail weddings, destination or intimate weddings.” Peter Trends (see their latest range)
The low-down on 2011 trends
Lots of textures are being used using a variety of fabrics, detailing such as beaded lace in bodice. Amazing fabrics are being used – see what Pina from Fiorenza has to say.
Belts: belts are being used in so many designs now to accentuate the brides waist, this can sometimes give depth to a 50’s style gown or a Vintage inspired look.
Dro pped waistlines are very popular with the upcoming ranges, giving a beautiful line to the dress.
We are seeing lots and lots of handmade flowers being added to gowns as an added feature, this coupled with a flower headpiece is very chic. Wendy Makin shows us some of her beautiful gowns with handmade blooms.
The dropped asymmetrical waist is also seen throughout the new styles, and is flattering to every height. See what Wendy from Brides Desire has to say.
Layering through the entire dress is very popular! See the beautiful chiffon and lace layered dress in this video from Essense and Martina Liana.
One shoulder gowns are beautiful and have been given full attention by designers this year. Have a look at Halo’s beautiful gown on model Courtney.
Also Atousa from Amin International features a one shoulder gown in her sneak peak.
Beautiful low scoop backs are popular as an addition to the lively 50’s look dress.
Covered backed dresses are a new style this year – Sandra from Sugar and Spices gives us a sneak peak
