Modern Wedding, The National Breast Cancer Foundation and David Jones join forces for Brides Beat Breast Cancer: together asking David Jones’ exclusive designers to design a gown with a touch of pink.

These beautiful gowns were featured in the Modern Wedding magazine's Pink Issue. The issue is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Libby Hayes (National Breast Cancer Foundation) and Victoria Black (Editor-in-chief of Modern Wedding) took the concept to National Breast Cancer Foundation Diamond Partner David Jones, offering their exclusive family of designers the opportunity to design a statement gown, with a touch of pink.

Victoria Black, Editor in Chief says, "We’re absolutely ecstatic to be featuring gowns by some Australia’s best fashion designers. The way that everyone has been willing to drop what they’re doing, pitch in and give so much of themselves for this amazing cause is just wonderful. And of course, that is truly what this is all about: one in nine Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That statistic is just staggering and research programs funded by the National Breast Cancer Foundation are vital if we are to achieve a future without breast cancer."

The gorgeous gowns will be on display on Level 2 at the David Jones Elizabeth Street Sydney store throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month from October 3rd to October 31st. David Jones will again hold their ‘Shop Pink’ donation day, where all profits from all stores on Thursday 6 October go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. “Shop Pink is a wonderful initiative of David Jones’ and we w anted to remind people about it, and get them into the store!” said Libby. “So it’s great that the gowns will be on display there.”

The gowns will be auctioned on eBay from November 15 – November 25.
