Originating in Japan, these dainty butterfly paddle fans are ideal to keep your female guests cool, especially at an outdoor wedding on a summer’s day.

Materials

Decorative paper; tongue depressors (purchased from chemists);

tacky craft glue; spray adhesive.

How to create

  1. Download template and trace onto the back of decorative paper.
  2. Cut out and attach tongue depressors with tacky craft glue where indicated on template.
  3. Once dry, spray with spray adhesive and press together. Trim up any edges that don’t line up.

TIP: If your selected decorative paper is not firm enough glue it onto cardboard stock with spray glue before cutting out.
