Save article to scrapbook »
You will need
Kraft paper, bone folder, double-sided tape, buttons, thick cotton thread, lace, trinket, rubber stamp lettering (optional)
How to create
- Download the gift card envelope template.
- Trace onto Kraft paper and cut out. At the same time cut out a single sheet of paper for your gift card – it needs to be at least 5mm smaller all around to easily be inserted into your envelope.
- Score and fold the envelope along the broken line.
- On the right side of the card attach your buttons as shown on the template. Stitch them to the paper with a needle and thread. For extra reinforcement place an additional piece of Kraft paper behind the button on the inside of the envelope. The paper needs to be no bigger than the button.
- Glue flaps 1 and 2 with double-sided tape to enclose the envelope.
- To make the card, glue a strip of lace along the top edge of the card with double-sided tape.
- Draw some free-hand tree branches on the card where the lovebird earrings can be strategically placed.
- Finish by adding your own wording. This can be either hand written or stamped
- Insert the card. Tie a piece of cotton thread to one of the buttons and leave enough length to tie around both buttons to seal the envelope.
