When two XSight Photography & Video photographers wed the resulting celebration and images can be labeled nothing but exquisite.

A chance meeting at a photography convention planted the seed for Ryan and Jessica’s relationship, a seed that grew and bloomed despite the couple living in different capital cities. “Instantly we had a connection,” Jessica recalls of the couple’s first meeting. The two photographers travelled between Sydney and Brisbane for more than a year before deciding to combine their talents and households.

Nearly two years after their first meeting, another photography convention ended with a holiday in Cancun and, much to Jessica’s surprise, the couple’s engagement. Ryan set the scene with champagne and a beachside sunset before nervously dropping to one knee to propose. “After many tears of joy of course I said ‘yes’.”

When it came to picking a designer for her wedding dress Jessica knew she wanted no one but MXM Couture in Brisbane. She had previously seen the designers’ work while photographing a fashion shoot. “I was totally amazed by their style and although I wasn’t even engaged at this point I knew that they would one day be designing my gown.” The dress was uniquely hand-tinted by the designers using a black dye to create a grayish white tone that complemented the bride’s complexion. The gown had a fitted bodice and a small fishtail train. There was also an incredible amount of hand-sewn detailing featuring crystals, beading, metallic leafing and loosely-hung fine chains. The standout detail of the gown was the sheer panels on the side and back of the dress.

The bridesmaids wore three-quarter length dresses from Seduce with fitted bodices and sequined detail while the groom wore a Calvin Klein suit and the groomsmen wore Oxford suits.

Ryan and Jessica chose Hamilton Island for their relaxed wedding celebrations, which started with casual cocktails the afternoon before their wedding. They held their ceremony at the beautifully tropical All Saints Chapel followed by a reception at the Mariner Restaurant, which overlooks the island’s harbour. The bride carried a teardrop rose bouquet that was brought from Sydney, along with the flowers for the rest of the bridal party. Guests travelled to the ceremony in motorised buggies while the bride and groom arrived in a more stylish Jaguar.

Jessica was thrilled by the romance of her wedding night spent in a suite at the Reef View Hotel. “Our room had a Jacuzzi on the balcony and the best views of the Hamilton Island seascape from the 18th floor of the hotel.”

The just-wed Ryan and Jessica rounded off their celebrations with a daylong barbeque the day after their wedding, with guests who had travelled from Brisbane and Sydney.

The newlyweds followed their island wedding with a blissful three-night honeymoon in the Hunter Valley complete with romantic pre-dinner drinks before a wood fire each night and fine dinning in a five star restaurant.
