Kate and Lindsay’s wedding ceremony took place on the 10th of September. They said their vows surrounded by their close family and friends on their own farm lookout property in Northampton WA. They exchanged rings on the very spot that Lindsay had popped the question only eight months earlier. ‘Lindsay asked me to come out to our favourite spot on the farm … to have a wine and relax after a busy day… dressed in our farm clothes in the farm jeep and our dog we headed out to the gorge and he asked me to marry him. Completely surprised I said “ha ha yeah sure”, he then pulled out a beautiful princess cut diamond ring!!! It was a definite yes!’
The theme of the wedding came naturally to the couple; they wanted a vintage feel with pastel pink and blue colours. Their preparations came together beautifully, with each element of their day imbued with romance and fun. The flowers Kate carried were a mixed pastel pink bouquet of David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses, ‘Sweet Avalanche’ roses, ‘Lavender Lace’, ‘Faith’, ‘Affinity’ and ‘Honeymoon’.
Kate wore a detailed ivory Velda dress by Maggie Sottero, and added lace sleeves for a personalised touch. The bridesmaids’ dresses were purchased online at OuterInner. Kate wanted a coral colour but was pleasantly surprised that the salmon colour she received was a perfect match for her theme.
The ceremony was followed by a reception for 158 guests at the Queen Elizabeth Centre in Geraldton. Kate and Lindsay organised a ‘Limbusine’– a 36ft limousine bus, which transported 20 of the guests. At the reception the guests also enjoyed making fun keepsakes in the photobooth available. The three-tiered cake was a mix of fruit cake on top, white mud and then chocolate mud on the bottom. Choosing a mix of flavours meant that there was something for everyone to enjoy.
