How you met
On a night out with friends, one of whom happened to be James' cousin, we talked until early hours of the morning and have been together ever since
The proposal
On our 5th anniversary, James happened to be 3hrs late deliberately. I was not happy about it, he started driving through the city surprising me at the Sebel Playford for a nights accommodation in the loft suite. He made me carry the bags while he opened the door to the room filled with rose petals, lit candles and posters along the wall each saying a different word: Deanna; will; you; marry; me? We then shared a bottle of Moet and a romantic dinner.
The Wedding Dress
Maggie Sottero 'Janessa' purchased from Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal House - One-piece, strapless, full A-line gown with corset or zipper closure. The bodice features our signature asymmetrical wrap with an embellished Alen¡on Lace bust line. The Renaissance Taffeta skirt is given further dimension with beautiful handmade flowers nestled within the billowing bustles.
The Grooms attire
Treviso - Purchased from Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal House Latest Italian design featuring single breasted 2 button jacket with peak lapels and modern 2 side vents. Elegant matching vest and modern flat front trousers, in the colour of chocolate brown with a bronze tinge.
Accessories - The boys wore matching belts, cuff links and shoes as part of their bridal party gifts, James wore mother of pearl cuff links and chocolate matching belt and shoes. The Girls wore black feathers fascinators in the hair with sliver diamonte and black diamonte earrings finished off with a pearl bracelet with a flower detail. I wore vintage style earrings with a pearl drop and a gold cross-encrusted with diamonds that my father gave me on the morning of the wedding.
Bridesmaid dresses
We stumbled upon these at Suite Boutique. I'm unsure of the name. They are a mix of Latte brown, Baby Pink and Hot pink colours.
Flowers
One sided bouquet with clusters of 5/ 7 long stem white Singapore orchids. Backed with luscious green Gymea leaves. Skirted with two stems of Monsteria leaves and folded dried bamboo leaves. Stems are bounded off with a white satin ribbon complimented with pearl pins. The bridesmaids had pink orchids instead of white. The groom had white Singapore orchids with buds embellished with folded green yukka leaves, and folded dried bamboo leaves.
Wedding theme
The theme followed from the engagement party right through to the wedding. It was a black, white and gold theme, completed with damask style gold and black table runners, which complemented the black table clothes and chair coverings with white napkins and gold bow sashes. The bronze vintage style candelabras were finished off with black and white feathers and glasses of black and white jellybeans on all tables. The bonbonnieres acted as both the guests gifts and place settings, of square candle holders wrapped in black and white lace ribbon, with black tulle parcels of sugared almonds.
Cake
Two tier white chocolate mud cake, covered in tall white chocolate shards, with a silver J & D sitting high in the first tier, finished off with a black and gold ribbon bow.
Transport
Groom/groomsmen - One Silver vintage Ford GT, One Pale green 'R' Series Valliant. Bridesmaids/bride - Two Pale green 'R' & 'S' Series Valliant.
Entertainment
Gerry 'o' - Played all the favourite songs and sang the night away
Honeymoon
Postponed until September - booked 6 weeks travelling though Italy, with stopovers in Paris, Lankowi and a 5 day tour of the Greek islands.
Also
The most special moments - Walking down the aisle towards my future husband, seeing the emotion in his eyes of not only mine but the happiest day of his life, the dip and first kiss and taking time out together during our photos to have our moment for the first time as husband and wife.
